Welcomes You
"No Young Man Left Behind"
The mission of Young Men Rising Incorporated is to allow male students the opportunity to reach success through mentoring, communication and cultural exposure. We believe that through mentoring, communication and cultural exposure there will be an increase in the high school graduation rate of male students and a greater opportunity to reach success.
Jeffrey M. Wyatt
Founder
JEFFREY M. WYATT is a native Atlantan, who was raised in the East Lake community of Atlanta. Jeff is a military veteran who served in the United States Navy and is retired from both the United States military and the United States Postal Service. Jeff loves all sports, however, his first love is the Atlanta Falcons. Jeff is married and they have two children.
Jeff’s gift and passion for mentoring young men came from his personal struggles in elementary and high school. After he retired, Jeff took a personal interest in making sure that he was available to talk with and listen to young men anywhere he felt there was a need for their voices to be heard. Jeff started Young Men Rising, Incorporated as an avenue for male students to develop character, self-esteem and confidence through mentoring and positive communication.
One of his main goals in his service to these young men was to develop a program in the elementary schools of Henry, DeKalb and Clayton county Georgia called, “No Young Man Left Behind - Lunch Buddy Program.” This program provides young male students in elementary schools the opportunity to be paired with an adult male role model who will provide one on one or group setting mentoring during their lunch breaks. This will be an opportunity to communicate with an adult male mentor, who will listen to their interest, concerns, and achievements.

Mentoring through Communication
Young Men Rising Incorporated Lunch Buddy Program will foster a connection between male students and adult male role models who will work with these male students to develop character, self-esteem and confidence through mentoring and positive communication.
Reinforcing our Commitment
Young Men Rising Incorporated’s key to success in launching the "No Young Man Left Behind" Lunch Buddy Program will be their ability to have a group of male mentors that will be committed to the student, responsible in their role as a Mentor and supportive in helping students achieve success.
Goals and Objectives:
-
It is our goal to establish and provide a one-on-one or group mentoring setting for middle school males with an adult male mentor during lunch hours. The male mentor will be available to assist them with social and/or academic concerns at least once a week on a scheduled day.
-
To support collaboration of positive communication between school counselors, teachers, and male students, while providing information regarding any behavioral or social issues a student may have.
-
To conduct a variety of fun and interactive activities to expose the student to etiquette and social skills (i.e., how to tie a tie, hygiene, dress code, etc.).
-
To facilitate the collection and distribution of small clothing items, shoes, and school supplies to students who may be impoverished or in need.
-
To launch a series of fundraising activities throughout the school year.
-
To establish a strong network of support with school systems.
